Empowering Deskless Workers with a Modern Microlearning Platform

Min roll:

UX/UI Designer → Project Manager → Product Owner

Period:

2018-2025

Moblrn is a SaaS EduTech platform that assists businesses in creating and distributing training for deskless workers – professionals who often miss out on traditional education formats.

Through a CMS and an end-user application (web and mobile), companies can swiftly build courses and deliver microlearning directly into the hands of construction workers, salespeople, and service staff.

Challenge

Deskless workers often have limited access to computers, intranets, and classroom-based training. Many companies lacked a modern, straightforward platform capable of reaching these groups where they actually are: on the construction site, in the store, or out in the field.

Moblrn had a functional prototype, but the user flows were unclear, the design was fragmented, and there were no graphical guidelines. A clearer identity, intuitive interfaces, and a scalable design was needed for both the CMS and the app.

My Role & Work Process

I began my career as a UX/UI designer, but quickly transitioned into roles as a project manager and product owner.

  1. Graphic Profile & Communication

  2. Developed a visual identity and presentation materials for the sales and marketing team.

  3. UX & UI Design

  4. Redesigned the entire prototype.

    • Defined new workflows for both the end-user app (course participants) and the CMS (course administrators).

    • Ensured interfaces were intuitive, focusing on minimal cognitive load for quick learning sessions.

  5. Project Management & QA

  6. Led the development team, prioritised the backlog, and facilitated workshops with clients and stakeholders.

    • Implemented structures for testing, estimation, and delivery.

  7. Strategic Development

  8. From 2023, I assumed a larger product owner role.

    • Defined the roadmap and presented strategic directions directly to management and key clients.

Team

I have worked with both small, dynamic teams and more distributed development teams – from leading and supporting 3–4 rotating developers during my time at Axakon to being responsible for communication with a Colombian team after 2023. Throughout this period, I collaborated closely with management, sales, and customers to ensure that the projects maintained the right quality and direction.

Solutions & Highlights

  • New CMS Design: A more user-friendly interface for course creators.

  • App Redesign: Simple, fast, and mobile-optimised for deskless workers.

  • Graphic Identity: A cohesive design that strengthened both the brand and user experience.

  • Scalable System: A reusable design system that enabled faster iterations.

Results & Effects

🚀 Increased adoption – more companies were able to launch their own training programmes more swiftly.

📈 Greater engagement – more end users completed courses.

💡 Shorter time-to-market – the CMS workflows made course production more efficient.
